Historical pictures

The digital archive of History Pictures and Documents contains many primary unwritten sources. Part of the collection is made and will be made accessible through publications on specific historical topics as World War I, the French Revolution, Slavery in Suriname and others.The focus is especially on cartoons.

Most of these publications will be in English and will only bedigitally available. Available so far: World War I in cartoons - causes in cartoons, Cartoons and posters World War I - The Homefront. Women in World War I,  French Revolution in pictures, Efimov and nazi-Germany in cartoons, Slaves masters and maroons in Suriname. Some publications are in Dutch and available as paper book.
